David Patterson, born and raised in Forsyth County, is a multi-generational homebuilder with over 15 years of experience building custom and semi-custom homes in Atlanta and on Lake Lanier. During this time, David managed the construction of 100-plus homes for several regional and national homebuilders in the metro Atlanta area. David graduated in 2004 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he majored in Business at the Gary W. Rollins College of Business. He spent the first five years of his career at Ashton Woods Homes. David began his career at Ashton Woods Homes, where he spent his first five years advancing through key operational roles. He started as a Customer Care Specialist for one year, advanced to Project Superintendent for one year, and then served as Project Manager for three years, directly overseeing construction. After five years with the company, he joined Thrive Residential as a Project Manager. After seven months at Thrive Residential, he focused exclusively on growing his own homebuilding company.

In 2015, David co-founded David Patterson Homes, a Forsyth-based homebuilding company dedicated to creating beautiful homes that stand out from other new construction while providing exceptional customer service from beginning to end. David has been responsible for the acquisition of land that has grown David Patterson Homes into what it is today. In addition to land acquisitions, David oversees the construction process to ensure customers receive the highest quality homes.

As of February 2026, DPH has sold over 193 units, realizing gross sales of over $130 million. DPH has accumulated multiple OBIE awards (10+), including a Community of the Year Award, which are presented by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association to recognize outstanding achievement in the home building industry. The venture is expected to build and sell over 100 homes per year within the next three years.

David understands the challenge of entitlement and acquiring land suitable for development. David co-founded Southvale to address this challenge and North Georgia’s growing need for housing. Rather than solely building homes, David wants to have a greater impact in his community by guiding thoughtful development.

David resides with his wife and kids in Forsyth County where he enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle. As an avid boater, he spends much of his free time with his family on Lake Lanier.
